I’ve completed a couple of personal pieces recently which are now up on my Society6 shop :)

*NEW* Website!

Hooray! At last I’ve managed to give my website a complete overhaul to include lettering alongside my illustration work. I’m so much happier with the look and feel of my site now :)

Fresh n Fruity!

Recently I’ve been so caught up with hand lettering (my Instagram is proof of this) that I feel I’ve neglected my illustration and I wanted to put a stop to it… by mixing them both together. I couldn’t stop lettering all together! Give me a break! So anyway, to add a splash of colour to this dismal winter we’ve all been having in the northern hemisphere things got a little bit fruity!

All are available as prints from my online store (just click the images). They’re also available as a variety of lovely gifts…

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! To celebrate I’ve put a new set of chalky hand-lettered products in my shop to give you some motivation for 2014 :)

Day of the Dead

Recently I’ve had a major hand lettering explosion – I’m slightly addicted (as you can see from my instagram – blog post coming soon) so I decided to mix it in with some illustration and create a little something for Dia de Muertos as I *love* the imagery associated with it :)

I thought the skulls would make an awesome pattern so I decided to throw that in too…

Both are available as prints, etc from my online shop (click the images). I am SUPER pleased with how these turned out. Creating stuff like this makes me so excited and happy!

You may also notice I’ve added a signature to these pieces. After lots and LOTS of experiments I’ve finally settled on a nice looking signature to put on my prints and illustrations (a standard copyright line is far too dry). Here’s a close-up; it is, of course, hand lettered :)

Fun times! I love what I do for a living sometimes (most times) :D

Christmas has come early!

I was looking around some old files recently when I came across the design for my personal Christmas cards from 2011. I still really like this illustration so I decided to add it to my shop as a print, etc. I know it’s only September but it’s nice to have it there ready and waiting!

Isomer (alpha) is ready!!

Some VERY exciting news: Isomer, the indie game by Ionising Software for which I’ve been doing the artwork, is OUT NOW!!

It’s taken a year of hard work by myself and the developer, but the alphafunding version is available to buy (for a modest price) here: http://www.ionisingsoftware.co.uk/isomer/buy.php

It being an “alpha” version means this is only the beginning of Isomer; we still have lots of plans and fun things to add, but this way people get to play the game earlier and for a cheaper price (which includes free updates forever, I might add). But more importantly, players get to make suggestions and give feedback which could actually make a difference, all whilst supporting the small team behind Isomer whilst we continue to make it.

However, don’t be fooled! Even at this early stage Isomer is a very rich game with lots of cool stuff. You can read more about what’s included on this Isomer forum post

This was a long and sometimes challenging project for me as I previously had no experience of producing artwork for a computer game, but one that I am immensely proud of. Fingers crossed it’s a success! Who knows where it could go? :)

Project: Isomer

So I’ve been very quiet recently and the reason for that is…

You may or may not remember this post from last October announcing the fact that I’m working with Ionising Software to create the artwork/graphics for their first commercially released computer game: Isomer. Well, 9 months later and we are *this* close to releasing the alpha version of the game!

To recap:

Isomer is an isometric realtime strategy with sandbox gameplay inspired by classic XCOM and dwarf fortress style games. It’s open ended, designed to be played in a variety of ways with world exploration, survival, crafting and strategy all blended together in a retro format.

You control alien forces hell-bent on conquering enemy worlds for their resources. How long can you survive? What will you build and discover?

Published!

Amazingly, I haven’t written a blog post about this yet. Last year (or possibly before that), I saw on the Zeixs website that they were accepting submissions for their Illustration book based on character design. Back then I was still new to the whole illustration thing but I decided to give it a go with only a few characters under my belt. I heard nothing back so I forgot all about it. Then a couple of months back a friend, who also submitted work, was googling her name to make sure her website came up with it, when she came across a strange german link. Upon clicking it she discovered that we both had been published in the book!!

I didn’t quite believe it but I rushed on to Amazon and bought a copy. Lo and behold, there I was. Unfortunately some time had passed so the web link I provided was no longer in use, but hey who cares… I’m in a book! :)

Here’s a really bad photo of my pages…
